Ronnie Williford

Given the choice between updating my website and and working on new paintings, I'll reach for the brush every time. I'm sure there are folks who love nothing more than spending hours pecking a keyboard like a chicken in a Skinner Box, but I don't happen to be one of them. This is my piddly excuse for neglecting to update my site in a while. I appreciate everyone's infinite patience while I procrastinated my way through uploading and labeling new images. I think I've finally gotten a good deal back in order, at least for now. I promise not to go so long between updates in the future. (I may not get everything labeled before the paint trip.)

The move cross country, the passing of my brother, some changing theology concerning my artwork, and the learning curve required to function in an rapidly changing industry have all contributed to massive tectonic shifts in my attitudes and inspiration concerning my work. I think I'm starting to feel good about it again.

Since my return to the Motherland, (Texas.) I've been exploring some of the historical places and people who make the area unique. Very soon, I plan to spend some time painting in Mexico at the Sea of Cortez for a show that will be held at the Sonora Desert Museum, Tuscon, in 2013. I've also been asked to speak on the subject of animation at the Industry Giants Conference in Dallas, Texas sometime in June. Combined with the annual shows I paint for every year, Society of Animal Artists, Birds in Art, etc... as well as an underwater painting show currently being assembled for a museum tour, the plate is starting to look extremely full for the year.

Please feel free to have a look around and drop me a note if you have any questions or comments. I promise to try and be more vigilant in uploading new work as it is produced, starting with all the new pieces from the Sea of Cortez. I'll be launching a new blog upon my return which you'll be hearing more about soon.

Thanks for stopping in to visit. Be safe,      Ronnie Williford       March 2011
